MEDIA, PA — The season of giving is upon us, and the Delaware County Park Police are ringing in the holiday spirit with their 8th annual “Blue Christmas” Toy Drive. They have made a call to arms for the residents and county employees to contribute towards making Christmas extra special for local children in need.
The toy drive, which will run until December 22, aims to collect new, unwrapped toys for children aged between 2 and 16. The collected gifts will be donated to local families experiencing hardships, providing a beacon of hope and joy this festive season.
Delaware County Park Police Chief John Deihl expressed his heartfelt sentiment behind the initiative. He said, “All children deserve to feel joy on Christmas morning. For children in foster care, those battling cancer and other illnesses, and those experiencing hard situations, Christmas can be a difficult time. We hope the small gesture of giving them a gift to open on Christmas morning brings them some happiness.”
The toy drive is accepting donations at various locations across the county. These include the Delaware County Government Center, Delaware County Park Police/69th St. location, Chester District Court, Sharon Hill Probation Office, Delaware County Bureau of Elections at the Wharf Building, The Fronefield Building, and The Falcon Center.
The Delaware County Park Police urge everyone to participate in this noble cause. Your contribution could bring a smile to a child’s face and make their Christmas morning a memorable one. Let’s all come together to share the magic of the holiday spirit and support our community in these challenging times.
