SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — Walmart and Sam’s Club will participate in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 26, by hosting in-person medication disposal events at select locations. The initiative aims to provide a safe way for community members to dispose of unwanted, unused, or expired prescription medications, helping prevent misuse.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., law enforcement agencies will be stationed in the parking lots of the following Walmart locations to collect medications:

  • Willow Grove: 2101 Blair Mill Road, Willow Grove, 19090
  • Warminster: 100 East Street Road, Warminster, 18974

“Keeping our communities safer by preventing misuse of medication is essential,” said Lisa Young, Group Director with Walmart Specialty Compliance and Ethics. “It’s really exciting to see everyone come together for this initiative, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

Additionally, Walmart emphasizes its commitment to year-round safe disposal through more than 1,000 in-pharmacy medication disposal kiosks available nationwide at both Walmart and Sam’s Club locations.

This event underscores Walmart’s ongoing efforts to support public health and safety. With accessible disposal options, the company aims to reduce prescription drug misuse while promoting safe practices in communities across the country.

A complete list of safe medication disposal locations can be found on the DEA’s website at:  https://apps2.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/pubdispsearch/spring/main?execution=e2s1. In addition, for those who fill prescriptions for opioid medications, Walmart and Sam’s Club offer an at-home opioid disposal product, DisposeRx, at no cost in all pharmacies nationwide.  For more information on Walmart’s Opioid Stewardship efforts, visit www.walmart.com/opioids.
