PITTSBURGH, PA — In a shocking suburban drug saga, Sharon, Pennsylvania resident Kayla Fair, 36, has been handed her sentence in federal court for her role in a cocaine distribution conspiracy. The United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan revealed on Tuesday that Fair, after spending approximately 16 months behind bars, will walk free with time served but must navigate the next three years under the watchful eye of supervised release.

United States District Judge Cathy Bissoon made the call, marking the end of a legal battle that began when Fair pleaded guilty in October 2021. The courtroom heard the sordid details of how Fair, alongside her co-defendant Zachariah Owens, turned their apartment into a cocaine distribution hub. Adding to the grim picture was the revelation that several of their children were living in the apartment amidst this criminal activity.

The case, prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller, showcased a determined effort by law enforcement to clamp down on drug trafficking within the community. The successful prosecution was buoyed by the collaborative efforts of the Mercer County Drug Task Force, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
