EAST NORRITON, PA — Reworld™, a prominent sustainable waste solutions company, and Goodwill Keystone have been awarded the prestigious William M. Heenan, Jr. Pennsylvania Recycling Markets Development Award for their impactful electronic waste (e-waste) recycling initiative. The award was presented on January 31, 2025, in recognition of the partnership’s success in expanding fee-free e-waste recycling to millions of Pennsylvanians across 22 counties in Central and Southeastern Pennsylvania.
The program, celebrated for its environmental and economic contributions, has diverted 1.4 million pounds of e-waste from landfills. This milestone, accomplished at no cost to consumers, underscores the project’s dual focus on sustainability and accessibility. “This partnership truly got stuff done,” said Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis during the presentation. “It not only prevents waste but also creates jobs here in the Commonwealth with Goodwill Keystone and Reworld.”
DEP Acting Secretary Jessica Shirley highlighted the program’s impact, noting it provides millions of residents with an eco-friendly option for disposing electronics, repurposing useful materials while keeping hazardous waste out of the environment. Local leaders and representatives from Goodwill Keystone and Reworld joined the event, including PA Senator Amanda Cappelletti and Montgomery County Commissioner Jamila Winder, to emphasize the broader benefits of the initiative.
This award reflects Pennsylvania’s efforts to foster innovative recycling while protecting its natural resources and supporting local communities.
