PENNSYLVANIA — Democratic State Representative Ryan Bizzarro (Erie) announced that more prominent Democrats from across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania have endorsed his bid for Pennsylvania State Treasurer. These endorsements bolster Bizzarro’s campaign to replace current officeholder, Stacy Garrity.
Among those offering their support are former Governor Ed Rendell, Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey, and Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon. They join over 150 other Democratic officeholders, officials, and committee members backing Bizzarro’s campaign.
Other notable figures endorsing Bizzarro include State Senator John Kane (Delaware/Chester), State Representatives Jose Giral (Philadelphia) and Lindsay Powell (Allegheny), Montgomery County Commissioner Neil Makhjia, former State Senator and State Fire Commissioner Tim Solobay (Washington), Second Vice Chair of the Philadelphia Democratic Party and former State Representative Angel Cruz, and Pottsville City Councilman Mark Atkinson (Schuylkill).
Former Governor Ed Rendell expressed his endorsement, stating, “Ryan Bizzarro is a dedicated and effective legislator who has guarded Pennsylvania’s financial house as State Representative…I am proud to support my friend Rep. Ryan Bizzarro for Pennsylvania State Treasurer.”
Bizzarro responded to Rendell’s endorsement, expressing his honor to receive the support of such a dedicated public servant.
Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey also offered his endorsement, praising Bizzarro’s dedication to Democratic values of justice, equality, and standing up for the rights of working people.
Congresswoman Scanlon joins Pennsylvania Congressional Democrats Dwight Evans (PA-03), Madeleine Dean (PA-04), Susan Wild (PA-07) and Matt Cartwright (PA-08) in supporting Bizzarro’s campaign.
Bizzarro expressed gratitude for their support, emphasizing its significance in the face of political extremism. He stated, “These incredible leaders have led the fight to defend our voting and health care rights, protect working families, improve our schools, and preserve our democracy…their backing has even more impact.”
With these significant endorsements, Bizzarro’s campaign for Pennsylvania State Treasurer continues to gain momentum.
