HARRISBURG, PA — The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) has launched a community survey as part of its ongoing efforts to secure accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), a globally recognized benchmark for excellence in law enforcement.
Open until January 25, the anonymous survey invites Pennsylvania residents to offer feedback on the agency’s performance, professionalism, and engagement with the communities it serves. Insights gathered through this initiative will help refine PSP operations and bolster its commitment to public safety and service.
“This survey is an important opportunity for our community to share their perspectives and help us grow stronger together,” stated Colonel Christopher Paris, PSP Commissioner. He emphasized that achieving and maintaining CALEA accreditation underscores PSP’s unwavering dedication to accountability, transparency, and adopting the highest law enforcement standards.
CALEA accreditation, first obtained by the PSP in 1993, is a rigorous process that evaluates public safety agencies based on internationally recognized best practices. Reaccreditation affirms the PSP’s efforts to maintain high operational standards and foster trust with Pennsylvania residents by focusing on continuous improvement.
The agency’s engagement through this survey aims to gather feedback from community members and stakeholders, including PSP employees, local government officials, and advocacy groups. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to shape the future of public safety in Pennsylvania.
