Pennsylvania Resident Pleads Guilty to Federal Drug Trafficking and Firearms Charges

PITTSBURGH, PA — Maurice Collier, a 33-year-old resident of New Castle, Pennsylvania, has pleaded guilty to federal drug trafficking and firearms charges. United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan made the announcement on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.

Collier entered his plea before Senior United States District Judge David Stewart Cercone. The court was informed that Collier had been involved in distributing cocaine base on September 17, 2020. Moreover, on November 4, 2020, he possessed various drugs — including fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, and cocaine base — with an intention to distribute. Collier also possessed a firearm, which he used in furtherance of his drug trafficking activities.

Judge Cercone has scheduled the sentencing for April 30, 2024, at 1:00 PM.

Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller is prosecuting the case on behalf of the United States. The investigation leading to the convictions was conducted by the Lawrence County Drug Task Force, the New Castle Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
