HARRISBURG, PA — A Cumberland County man has been handed a three-year prison sentence for threatening the life of President Biden, as well as former President Trump. Mohamed Farah, 34, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Jennifer P. Wilson on Thursday. After serving his time, Farah faces an additional three years of supervised release.
United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam revealed that Farah admitted to making threats in January 2022. The Somalian citizen threatened to assassinate President Biden and warned of a similar fate for former President Trump should he decide to run for reelection. Farah may face deportation to Somalia after completing his prison term.
The U.S. Secret Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Lower Allen Township Police Department joined forces to investigate the threats. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carlo D. Marchioli prosecuted the case.
