HARRISBURG, PA — The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has expanded its efforts to maintain safety and integrity within the state’s gaming establishments, placing 19 more individuals on various Involuntary Exclusion Lists. These lists prohibit individuals from accessing Pennsylvania’s casinos, regulated online betting platforms, or venues with Video Gaming Terminals (VGTs). With this latest action, the number of individuals on the lists now totals 1,363.
Minors Left Unattended
Among the key updates, two individuals were added to the Casino Involuntary Exclusion List for leaving minors unattended while gambling.
One man reportedly left two children, aged 8 and 13, in a parked vehicle at the Valley Forge Resort Casino for 52 minutes while he was inside the casino. Similarly, a woman left an 8-year-old child unattended in a hotel room at Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia for over an hour while gambling on slot machines.
The Board also denied the removal request of a woman placed on the list in 2022 for leaving three minors, aged 10, 14, and 15, in a vehicle for one hour and 41 minutes at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course while she gambled inside.
The PGCB emphasized that leaving children unattended in any area associated with a casino presents serious risks. To address this issue, the Board has previously launched the awareness campaign “Don’t Gamble with Kids” to complement casino efforts to prevent these incidents.
Fraud and Crime Additions
Eight more individuals were added to the Casino Exclusion List due to criminal actions deemed harmful to the interest of the Commonwealth. Nine additional persons were added to the Interactive Gaming Exclusion List for engaging in fraudulent activities through online gaming platforms.
Consent Agreement and Fine
The Board also approved a $10,000 consent agreement jointly against Washington Trotting Association LLC, the operator of Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, and Sports Information Services Limited, which operates as Kambi in Pennsylvania. The fine stems from an incident involving an individual who placed 35 past-posted sports bets at kiosks within the casino.
This enforcement action underscores the PGCB’s commitment to upholding the rules governing Pennsylvania’s expanding sports wagering operations.
Upcoming Meeting
The PGCB will convene its next public meeting at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in the Public Hearing Room located on the second floor of the Strawberry Square Complex in Harrisburg. Further details about the approved consent agreement and the Board’s ongoing efforts can be obtained through the PGCB’s Office of Communications.
Promoting Safety and Fairness
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board continues to take deliberate steps to ensure that the state’s gaming industry remains safe, transparent, and accountable. By addressing issues such as unattended minors, fraud, and other regulatory violations, the Board seeks to protect consumers and maintain public trust in the integrity of gaming operations.
