CHESTER, PA — The New Pennsylvania Project (NPP) has announced its endorsement of several key candidates, signaling its commitment to protecting freedoms and prioritizing the needs of working families. This announcement comes as part of NPP’s broader initiative to galvanize voter engagement across Pennsylvania.

The NPP has extended its support to a formidable slate of candidates, including Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz for the Presidency of the United States.

In state offices:

  • Eugene DePasquale is endorsed for Pennsylvania Attorney General,
  • Malcolm Kenyatta for State Auditor General, and
  • Erin McClelland for State Treasurer.

Additionally, the NPP backs congressional candidates:

  • Susan Wild for PA-7,
  • Matt Cartwright for PA-8, and
  • Janelle Stelson for PA-10.

These endorsements are part of a comprehensive Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) campaign by NPP, which is not coordinated with any campaign or candidate’s committee. The campaign includes a rigorous door-to-door canvassing effort, with the organization aiming to reach tens of thousands of households within a fortnight. To complement these efforts, NPP is leveraging digital platforms, targeted radio advertisements, and strategic mailers to motivate voters across the Commonwealth.

The impending election is framed by NPP as a critical juncture, offering a choice between “serious leadership and vengeful rhetoric – democracy and authoritarianism.” By energizing voters, NPP seeks to ensure that Pennsylvanians can elect leaders who genuinely reflect their concerns and priorities, rather than those of the affluent and elite.

Kadida Kenner, the founding CEO of NPP, emphasized the profound impact of the upcoming elections, particularly with the potential for the next president to appoint up to three U.S. Supreme Court justices. These appointments could have lasting implications on pivotal issues such as reproductive rights, gun safety, environmental regulations, and voting rights, shaping American jurisprudence for generations.

Founded as a voting rights organization, NPP is dedicated to year-round voter registration, civic education, and mobilization, with a particular focus on historically disenfranchised groups including Black, Indigenous, and other people of color, immigrant communities, and youth. Through its civic engagement efforts, NPP aims to empower all eligible voters in Pennsylvania to participate actively in the democratic process.

As the elections draw near, the endorsements and initiatives spearheaded by the New Pennsylvania Project could play a decisive role in shaping the political landscape of Pennsylvania, spotlighting the critical importance of voter participation in preserving democratic values.
