Key Pennsylvania Unions Endorse Ryan Bizzarro for State Treasurer

Election News

PENNSYLVANIA — Three of Pennsylvania’s influential labor unions announced their endorsement of House Democratic Policy Committee Chairman Ryan Bizzarro in the Democratic primary for Pennsylvania State Treasurer. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 98, the United Food & Commercial Workers Local 1776, and the Pennsylvania Professional Fire Fighters Association issued their support on Monday, joining over 150 Democratic officials who have already backed Bizzarro’s campaign.

Bizzarro expressed gratitude for the unions’ endorsements, pledging to uphold the rights of union workers and ensure their interests are prioritized. “Union jobs with good pay, good benefits, and a pension are key to a brighter future for all of us. As State Treasurer, I will make sure the PA Treasury invests wisely to put working people first,” Bizzarro said.

UFCW 1776 President Wendell Young IV praised Bizzarro’s track record of supporting working families. “Ryan will be a State Treasurer who will do everything in his power to make sure taxpayer assets and programs are managed well for the hard-working people of our Commonwealth. We are proud to support Ryan in this campaign,” Young said.

Pennsylvania Professional Fire Fighters Association President Bob Brooks echoed this sentiment. “Ryan has always been a supporter of our cause and to Pennsylvania firefighters from every corner of the Commonwealth. He’s always had our back in the legislature and he will continue to have our back as Treasurer – that’s why we’re backing him.”

These endorsements add significant momentum to Bizzarro’s campaign as he seeks to unseat incumbent Stacy Garrity, described by the Bizzarro campaign as the state’s most extremist statewide official due to her perceived attacks on public sector unions.
