US Department of Justice

JOHNSTOWN, PA — Penny Woodley, a 55-year-old resident of Hastings, Pennsylvania, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on allegations of narcotics trafficking. United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan announced the indictment on Thursday, December 21, 2023.

The three-count indictment alleges that Woodley possessed with the intent to distribute and distributed over 50 grams of methamphetamine on three separate occasions.

If found guilty, the law stipulates a minimum sentence of 10 years imprisonment and a maximum of life, a fine of up to $10,000,000, or both. The actual sentence imposed, under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and any prior criminal history of the defendant.

Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan D. Lusty is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.

The multi-agency investigation leading to these charges was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration, and included the Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, Internal Revenue Services, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and Homeland Security Investigations.

An indictment is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
