HARRISBURG, PA — Larry Patterson, a 32-year-old resident of Harrisburg, has been handed a hefty 10-year prison sentence. The sentencing, delivered by United States District Court Judge Jennifer P. Wilson on March 12, 2024, is for possessing cocaine with intent to distribute. Following his prison term, Patterson will also serve a three-year supervised release.

The case dates back to 2022 when law enforcement officers in Harrisburg apprehended Patterson. During the arrest, they discovered 29 grams of crack cocaine, neatly packaged in two clear plastic baggies. A digital scale, a common tool in the drug trade, was also found in his possession.

The severity of the sentence underscores the seriousness with which the justice system views drug offenses. United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam commented on the case, underscoring the concerted efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat drug-related crime.

The investigation leading to Patterson’s sentencing was a joint effort by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Harrisburg City Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Johnny Baer and Michael Scalera were the prosecutors on the case.
