WASHINGTON, D.C. — Mainspring Energy has secured $87,070,493 in federal funding to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. This initiative, supported by the Advanced Energy Manufacturing and Recycling Grants Program under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), is set to create 891 jobs and reinforce Southwestern Pennsylvania’s status as a leader in advanced energy solutions.

The federal funding, championed by U.S. Senators Bob Casey and John Fetterman along with U.S. Congressman Chris Deluzio, marks a transformative moment for Coraopolis. “This is a game-changing investment for Coraopolis and Southwestern Pennsylvania,” stated Senator Casey, emphasizing the creation of high-skilled, well-paying jobs that will sustain the region’s legacy in energy innovation.

Senator Fetterman highlighted the strategic importance of the investment, stating, “Western Pennsylvania has always been America’s industrial backbone.” He underscored how this project aligns with broader goals of transitioning to a carbon-pollution-free future while maintaining economic strength and union-built integrity. Congressman Deluzio echoed these sentiments, applauding the federal dollars that will boost local manufacturing capabilities and contribute to the nation’s climate goals by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The new facility, a collaboration between Mainspring Energy and construction firm Al. Neyer, will focus on producing 1,000 linear generators annually. These generators are pivotal for providing clean and reliable power to critical institutions such as hospitals and data centers across the nation. The project is not only a boon for local employment, creating 291 construction-related jobs and 600 operations positions, but also enhances the domestic manufacturing supply chain, thereby elevating American competitiveness in the global clean energy market.

The funding initiative is part of the U.S. Department of Energy‘s efforts to revitalize areas affected by the closure of coal mines and power plants. By focusing on clean energy manufacturing, the program aims to create sustainable economic opportunities while addressing environmental concerns. The endorsement of this project by Senators Casey and Fetterman, along with Congressman Deluzio, underscores their commitment to fostering innovation and job creation in Pennsylvania.

As Mainspring Energy embarks on this ambitious project, its success is poised to have lasting impacts on both the regional economy and the broader clean energy landscape, reaffirming Pennsylvania’s role as a pivotal player in the nation’s energy future.
