PENNSYLVANIA — The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)’s Office of Environmental Justice has announced the dates of a series of public comment meetings for Pennsylvanians to attend and share feedback on DEP’s Interim Final Environmental Justice Policy. The goal of these meetings is to engage Pennsylvanians in shaping environmental justice policy for communities across the Commonwealth.
The public comment period began on September 16th, 2023, and extends through October 29th, 2023. This allows enough time for interested individuals, stakeholders, and organizations to provide input on this critical policy.
DEP has organized seven in-person public comment meetings and two statewide virtual public comment meetings across Pennsylvania to ensure broad participation and help DEP foster environmental justice in Pennsylvania. They provide a platform for the public to raise thoughts, concerns, and suggestions regarding the policy.
