Pennsylvania Senate Republican Campaign Committee

HARRISBURG, PA — State Senator Chris Gebhard (SD-48) has been appointed as the new Cycle Chair of the Pennsylvania Senate Republican Campaign Committee (PA SRCC) for the 2025-2026 election cycle. Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward (SD-39) announced the appointment on Monday, citing Gebhard’s dedication and leadership within the Republican Caucus since his election in 2021.

Senator Gebhard steps into the role following Senator Dave Argall, who, alongside Senator Ward, guided the PA SRCC through successful campaigns in 2022 and 2024. These election cycles secured five Republican Senate victories in competitive districts and delivered the first Republican Senate win in Philadelphia in nearly three decades—key to maintaining the current 28-22 GOP majority.

Recognizing the leadership of her predecessor, Senator Ward stated, “We thank Senator Argall for his four years of work to help maintain our Republican Senate majority. His pivotal leadership leaves SRCC with a strong foundation for the next cycle. I look forward to working with Senator Chris Gebhard as he takes the reigns for the 2026 cycle, and we prepare for the challenges that lie ahead. He will be a great asset. Senator Gebhard, PA SRCC, and I are laser focused on strengthening our Majority next year.”

Expressing his gratitude for the appointment, Senator Gebhard emphasized the importance of maintaining the Republican majority’s vision for Pennsylvania. “I am grateful for the trust that Senate President Kim Ward has put in me with this appointment. The Senate Republican Majority has a track record of advocating for better schools, lower taxes, and safer streets. PA SRCC will work every day between now and November of 2026 to protect that majority and to ensure we can continue to deliver results for the people of Pennsylvania,” he said.

Senator Gebhard, first elected in 2021, has been recognized for his active role in the Republican Caucus. His upcoming leadership in the PA SRCC is seen as critical to navigating the challenges of retaining and potentially expanding the GOP majority in the state Senate over the next two years.

The Pennsylvania Senate Republican Campaign Committee’s focus remains on safeguarding its legislative influence to continue delivering on priorities for its constituents. With Senator Gebhard at the helm, the PA SRCC is preparing an aggressive and focused effort heading into the next election cycle.
