CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Toys for Tots campaign covering Chester and the Southern portion of Montgomery County has been awarded the Local Community Organization (LCO) Campaign of the Year for 2022 for the region covering Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, and all of New England.
“With the support of our community, we were able to offer assistance to over 15,000 children last year,” said Jeffrey Smith, Coordinator for the campaign. “That would not have been possible without the help of over 200 volunteers, multiple community partners, and more than 300 sites that collected gifts from the community.
While honored by the award, Smith is hoping for an even more successful 2023 campaign. “We had some critical shortfalls last year that prevented us from offering support to everyone who requested assistance. We’re trying to close the gap this year with additional fundraising, and trying to give the community more information on what our anticipated needs are”
Nationally, Toys for Tots served over 9.9 million children in 2022, but while the need is spread across a range of ages, often the gifts collected may not match those requested. “We generally get more than enough gifts in the 3-7 age range, but we usually need to purchase gifts for those two and younger or older than 8 to meet our requests,” Smith said
This year, the campaign will be hosting a Charity Golf Tournament at White Manor Country Club in Malvern. “It is an honor to be a part of such a wonderful organization in the Toys for Tots Foundation. The entire team at White Manor Country Club looks forward to a successful event to support our community” said Stacy Krick, Event Director.
The campaign is just starting the process to sign up golfers and sponsors, and is still seeking a Title Sponsor for the event. More details can be seen at http://www.cct4tgolf.com/.
