When it comes to gas prices in various Pennsylvania cities, Altoona tops the list with the highest gas prices, averaging $3.99 per gallon. Erie and York share the second spot with a gas price of $3.97 per gallon, and Lancaster and Johnstown follow with $3.95 per gallon. On a national level, Pennsylvania currently ranks 14th for the highest gas prices in the country.

So which states have the highest and lowest gas prices in the nation? California tops the list with the most expensive gas, averaging $5.11 per gallon, followed by Washington at $5.02 and Hawaii at $4.78. On the other hand, Mississippi has the lowest gas prices in the country, averaging $3.32 per gallon. Alabama and Louisiana tie for second place, both averaging $3.43 per gallon.
