PARKESBURG, PA — After nearly four decades of steadfast service to the community, Parkesburg Borough Police Department’s longest-serving Police Chief, Brian C. Sheller, is set to retire at the end of January 2024. His illustrious career, which began on April 18, 1988, has seen him rise from patrol division officer to the top rank, a position he has held for over 30 years.

Under his leadership, the Parkesburg Borough Police Department expanded its operations and began providing full-service police coverage to surrounding localities such as Highland Township, Atglen Borough, Avondale Borough, and Honey Brook Borough – a testament to his vision and collaborative approach.
His accomplishments extend beyond the borough boundaries. In March 2006, he graduated from the prestigious FBI National Academy, further elevating the department’s reputation. From January 2013 to December 2014, he led the Chester County Chiefs of Police Association as President, broadening his impact on law enforcement across the county.
