Rep. Chrissy Houlahan Honored with Congressional Service Award for Advocacy of National Service

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Representative Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) was recognized for her unwavering support of AmeriCorps and her efforts to cultivate a culture of civic engagement across the country at the 2024 Friends of National Service Awards held this week. The prestigious Congressional Service Award was bestowed upon Rep. Houlahan by Voices for National Service, an advocacy group championing AmeriCorps programs that tackle America’s most pressing challenges, from natural disasters to supporting veterans.

AnnMaura Connolly, President of Voices for National Service, lauded Rep. Houlahan’s distinguished legacy of public service, noting her unique perspective as both a military veteran and a former AmeriCorps member. “She uniquely understands the value of service both in the communities served and in the lives of those who step forward to serve,” Connolly said.
