WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that JLunds & Byerlys is conducting a voluntary recall of approximately 500 containers of its L&B Lone Star Dip due to potential mold contamination. This precautionary measure is being taken to ensure consumer safety, although no illnesses have been reported so far.

The product in question was distributed across Lunds & Byerlys stores throughout the Twin Cities (Minnesota) and the surrounding area. It is packaged in 12-ounce containers and can be identified by the UPC code 18169-74197. The affected units are marked with the best by dates of October 15, 2024, and October 17, 2024.

The issue was initially detected by store employees who observed signs of mold growth and swiftly alerted the company’s Quality Assurance team. In response, JLunds & Byerlys has taken prompt action to remove the product from shelves and initiate a recall.

Consumers who have purchased the affected dip are advised to either return it to any Lunds & Byerlys location for a full refund, which does not require a receipt, or dispose of the product immediately to prevent any risk of consumption.

For further inquiries regarding the recall, customers can contact JLunds & Byerlys’ customer service line at 952-548-1400, available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
