WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that Yummy Foods, based in Edison, NJ, is recalling its Yummy Swirly Ices line due to potential milk contamination. This recall is critical for consumers who have allergies or severe sensitivities to milk, as ingesting these products could result in serious or life-threatening allergic reactions.

Despite the recall, it is important to note that this issue is not related to kosher compliance. The CRC Kashrus Agency has confirmed that the products remain kosher parve.

The affected products were distributed to retail supermarkets across several states, including New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Ohio, Illinois, Florida, and California. Consumers can find these items in the freezer aisle of independent kosher supermarkets, packaged in boxes labeled with the Yummy logo.

The recall was initiated following a complaint from a consumer with a milk allergy who reported experiencing discomfort after consuming the Swirly Ices. Yummy Foods is currently investigating the cause of the cross-contamination.

Consumers who have a milk allergy or sensitivity are advised not to consume these products. Instead, they should return them to the point of purchase for a full refund.

The recalled products include:

  • Swirly Tropical Melon
  • Swirly Berry Blast
  • Swirly Tropical Tornado
  • Swirly Churning Cherry
  • Swirly Variety Pack

The products are associated with lot numbers 68/2 and 69/1, with expiration dates of May 28, 2026, and May 30, 2026. However, the recall applies to the entire Yummy Swirly Ices line, regardless of lot number.
