WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a voluntary recall of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream’s Vegan Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll pints from their Brooklyn, NY location. The recall affects four pints of the product, which contain an undeclared peanut allergen. This poses a serious risk for individuals with peanut allergies.

The specific product being recalled is as follows:

  • Name: Vegan Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll
  • Container Size: 14 oz
  • Lot Number: 24V094 (located at the bottom of the package)
  • Product UPC: 850005872375
  • Best By Date: April 3, 2026 (located at the bottom of the package)

This recall is confined to the specified lot and does not affect any other Van Leeuwen Ice Cream products. The recall was initiated after the discovery that eight pints containing peanuts were distributed in packaging that did not list peanuts as an ingredient. So far, four of these pints have been recovered, while the remaining four are still in circulation.

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” the FDA warned.

The issue originated from a mock case sample that mistakenly entered the distribution channel. As of now, one adverse reaction has been reported.

Consumers in possession of the affected product are advised to contact Van Leeuwen Ice Cream for further instructions at Hello@VanLeeuwenIceCream.com.

This recall aims to protect consumers and prevent any further incidents related to the undeclared allergen.
