PHILADELPHIA, PA — Traveling internationally can be an exhilarating experience, but it can also come with its share of headaches – long customs lines and tedious paperwork being among them. But for travelers passing through Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), there’s an opportunity to bypass these inconveniences thanks to a partnership between PHL and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
From January 15-18, PHL and CBP will host a Global Entry enrollment blitz. The event, taking place from 3-8 p.m. in the Terminal B/C Baggage Claim area, aims to expedite the process for pre-approved, low-risk travelers to gain access to the benefits of the Global Entry program.
So why should you care about this? If you’re a frequent international traveler, getting enrolled in the Global Entry program can significantly streamline your travel experience.
The Global Entry program offers a suite of advantages that can make your journey smoother and more enjoyable. Members can skip the processing lines and avoid filling out paperwork upon arrival in the United States. Instead, they can use automatic kiosks at select airports, including PHL, for expedited entry. This can considerably reduce wait times and get you on your way faster.
Moreover, the program is valid for five years and includes TSA PreCheck, which expedites security screenings for flights within the U.S. This means less time spent at the airport and more time to enjoy your destination or return home.
However, it’s essential to note that the upcoming enrollment blitz at PHL is open only to applicants who have been conditionally approved through the Global Online Enrollment System (GOES) and are awaiting their interview appointment. There will be 432 appointments available during the four-day event.
If you’ve already applied and received GOES conditional approval, you can schedule your Global Entry Blitz appointment. The process is straightforward: log in to your Global Entry account, look for the “do you have an access code” button at the bottom of the appointments page, enter the code V277K8U43, select the new location “Philadelphia”, and follow the steps to schedule your appointment.
For those driving to the airport, PHL short-term and garage parking will be available.
The Global Entry Enrollment Blitz at PHL represents a golden opportunity for international travelers seeking a more efficient, enjoyable travel experience. It’s a significant step towards making international travel less about the journey and more about the destination. So, if you’re an international traveler who regularly passes through PHL, this is a development you won’t want to miss.
