COATESVILLE, PA — The Alliance for Health Equity (AHE) has announced that Union Community Care has been chosen as the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) for the Brandywine Center, located at 744 East Lincoln Highway, Coatesville. Beginning in July 2025, Union Community Care will provide integrated healthcare services tailored to the needs of residents in the Greater Coatesville area as part of AHE’s ARPA-funded integrated health strategy.
Union Community Care will deliver a wide range of patient-centered services including primary medical care, dental care, behavioral health, maternal and child health, and social support. Known for its “whole health, whole community” model, the organization has earned national recognition as a Patient-Centered Medical Home for its commitment to quality and care coordination.
“We are excited to welcome Union Community Care as a partner in our shared mission to improve health outcomes and ensure access for folks as they need it,” said Kevin Ressler, President and CEO of AHE. “Union’s innovative approach and expertise in expanding service offerings will play a critical role in shaping the future of healthcare in Greater Coatesville. With the changing landscape of health services locally, regionally, and even nationally, it was important for us to be ahead of the coming wave of challenges for health services available to a community that has too often been left behind.”
Union Community Care’s selection follows its success in other regions focusing on prevention, coordination of care, and partnerships with the community. Leaders at Union plan to prioritize listening to local residents and tailoring healthcare solutions to meet their unique needs.
“Having lived in Chester County with my family for over 10 years, I know how special and vibrant the Coatesville community is,” said Alisa Maria Jones, MPH, President and CEO of Union Community Care. “We are thrilled to join the Coatesville community as its partner in health. Our first steps will be listening to and learning from the community so that every person feels seen, valued, and supported. We’re committed to building on AHE’s foundation of health equity by understanding what folks and families value most in their healthcare and tailoring our services to meet those needs.”
The transition will involve collaboration between Union Community Care and ChesPenn Health Services, the outgoing FQHC. Both organizations have vowed to ensure a seamless handover of services, maintaining continuity for patients and local healthcare workers. Starting in June, Union’s Care Teams will reach out to ChesPenn patients to provide support and coordinated care during the transition.
The Alliance for Health Equity and Union Community Care are committed to keeping patients and the community informed throughout the process. A public meeting on March 4 will introduce Union Community Care’s leadership and outline plans for the future.
The expansion of Union Community Care at the Brandywine Center marks a significant step toward improving access to high-quality, integrated healthcare in Coatesville, strengthening the community’s health and well-being for years to come.
