LEHIGH VALLEY, PA — Miller-Keystone Blood Center (MKBC) was recently named as blood provider to Chestnut Hill Hospital (Philadelphia, PA), Pottstown Memorial Medical Center (Pottstown, PA), and Phoenixville Hospital (Phoenixville, PA). In this capacity, Miller-Keystone now serves as the exclusive provider of blood products and patient services to the hospitals and residents in these communities.

“Miller-Keystone Blood Center has a 50-year history of quality service to hospitals in Eastern Pennsylvania and Western New Jersey, with a solid record of FDA compliance for quality and safety in blood donor recruitment, blood collections, testing and distribution,” says Rami Nemeh, BS, MT, Chief Operating Officer, MKBC, who confirms that the Blood Center now serves as blood provider to 35 hospitals in the region.

“We will be working to establish and build relationships with community groups, working together to get donors involved,” Mr. Nemeh continues, adding that MKBC has expanded the hours at its regional donor center and satellite locations,. “Within the area, residents will see Miller-Keystone Blood Center bloodmobile vehicles and blood drives will be set up at schools, religious centers, businesses and other organizations.”

Miller-Keystone Blood Center is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) community blood center that has served Eastern Pennsylvania and Western New Jersey since 1971. Headquartered in Bethlehem (PA), Miller-Keystone currently operates seven regional donor centers in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Pittston and Reading (PA) and Ewing (NJ), and hosts more than 1,500 bloodmobiles each year, distributing more than 100,000 blood products annually.

“Miller-Keystone Blood Center is proud to be selected as exclusive blood provider to Chestnut Hill, Pottstown and Phoenixville Hospitals,” Mr. Nemeh concludes. “This change will not impact the blood supply to the community. Patients will continue to receive the life-saving blood products they need, and we look forward to working with the hospitals, schools and organizations in the region to ensure a safe, stable and continuous supply of blood products for the community.”
