WEST READING, PA — Tower Health is urging women to prioritize their breast health this March through its “Slam Dunk Mammo Screening” campaign. The initiative, running throughout the month, encourages women to schedule annual mammograms and emphasizes the critical role early detection plays in combating breast cancer.
Participants who make an appointment for a screening mammogram by March 31 or complete their mammogram at any Tower Health location will be entered into a drawing to win prizes, including a Lululemon sling bag, Nike Dunk Low Next Nature sneakers, and an Apple Watch SE.
“Early detection is key,” said Dr. Kendra Winter, breast surgeon at Tower Health Medical Group Breast Health Center Wyomissing. “Our goal at Tower Health is to talk about the importance of breast health and mammograms all year long so if patients do have a concern, we can meet with them and address it as soon as possible.”
Breast cancer impacts one in eight women during their lifetime, often striking those with no family history. To expand awareness beyond October’s traditional Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the “Slam Dunk Mammo Screening” campaign was developed by Tower Health’s Community Wellness Departments. Special attention is being directed toward communities with lower mammography screening rates, as identified by the Community Health Needs Assessment.
“We all know a woman who puts the needs of her family before herself,” said Barb O’Connor, Director of Community Health and Outreach at Phoenixville Hospital. “This campaign is to help remind women of the importance of their annual mammogram so they can continue to be there for those they love.”
To schedule a mammogram, call 1-833-34-TOWER (86937) or visit the MyTowerHealth portal. By phone, mention #TowerSlamDunk. Through MyTowerHealth, enter #TowerSlamDunk in the comments for a prize.
Tower Health’s unique initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to improving breast health awareness and increasing participation in mammogram screenings, reinforcing that early detection saves lives.
