CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — The Upper Uwchlan Township Zoning Hearing Board is set to hold a public hearing on January 17, 2024, at 7:00 PM. The focal point of the hearing will be the application submitted by Keystone Outdoor Advertising Co., Inc., represented by Vincent B. Mancini, Esquire of Mancini & Kodumal, PLLC, seeking variances for two billboard structures on properties owned by Eaglepointe Development Assoc., L.P.
The proposed billboards are to be erected at 1955 Ticonderoga Boulevard, Upper Uwchlan Township, a property situated in the LI-Limited Industrial Zoning District. Keystone’s application outlines plans for two separate billboard structures, each supporting a double-faced sign measuring fourteen feet by forty-eight feet (14’ x 48’). One side of each billboard will feature static or vinyl copy, while the other side will be digital.
The variance requests primarily involve modifications to the sign provisions of Section 200.98.I(1) of the Upper Uwchlan Township Zoning Ordinance. Keystone seeks approval for the following:
- An increase in the maximum height for both billboard structures from thirty feet (30’) to fifty-nine feet (59’) above grade.
- A variance from Section 200.98.I(4) and (5), which would allow for the illumination of the billboards to remain on between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM and permit the placement of LED fixtures at the bottom of the sign, rather than at the top.
The public hearing offers an opportunity for all attendees to share their views on these variance requests with the Zoning Hearing Board. This democratic process ensures that community voices are heard and taken into account before any decisions are made.
Upper Uwchlan Township states that it is committed to ensuring that all residents can participate in the hearing. If you have a disability and require an auxiliary aid, service, or other accommodation to observe or participate in the proceedings, contact the Township Secretary at (610) 458-9400 to discuss how your needs can be best accommodated.
The upcoming public hearing is an important opportunity for community members to engage with local governance and make their opinions known on a project that could reshape the visual landscape of Upper Uwchlan Township.
The venue for the hearing is the Upper Uwchlan Township Building, located at 140 Pottstown Pike (Route 100), Chester Springs, Chester County, PA.
