HARRISBURG, PA — State Representative Kristine Howard (D-Chester) officially began her fourth term representing the 167th Legislative District in Chester County after taking the oath of office this week at the state Capitol.
Administered by Pennsylvania Supreme Court Chief Justice Debra Todd, the oath marked Howard’s continuation in a role she has held for three previous terms. The ceremony, which included an invocation by Bishop Maureen L. Davis of Philadelphia’s Open Door Mission True Light Church, signified the start of the Pennsylvania General Assembly’s 209th legislative session.
Howard outlined her legislative priorities for the new term, including reproductive rights, child protection, affordable higher education, environmental preservation, and fostering economic growth. “I am honored to represent the residents of the 167th Legislative District,” Howard said. “It is a privilege to continue to serve my constituents and make sure that they, their families, their businesses, and their communities have the resources needed.”
The 209th legislative session, running from January 1, 2025, through November 30, 2026, continues Pennsylvania’s long-standing history of consecutive sessions since the inaugural one in 1790. Howard enters this new term focused on addressing some of the most pressing issues facing her district and the state.
