WEST CHESTER, PA — A significant step has been taken by the Chester County Sheriff’s Office to bolster community safety. Deputies Sergeant Daniel Clifton, Deputy Anthony Schuibbeo, and Deputy David Reeves have successfully completed the national Mobile Field Force Instructor training. This specialized program is designed to equip law enforcement personnel with the necessary expertise to manage large-scale public events efficiently, ensuring both public safety and the protection of individual rights.

The training emphasizes the importance of preparedness in maintaining public order during both planned and spontaneous events. Chester County deputies are now required to undertake foundational courses along with ongoing in-service training to remain adept at handling scenarios where the Sheriff’s Office may be called upon to ensure public safety.

Chester County Sheriff Kevin D. Dykes emphasized the dual responsibility of law enforcement. “We all know how important it is for people to have the freedom to express their views,” he stated. “At the same time, it’s just as important that everyone can do so safely. Our goal is to support both those rights, and this important training helps to achieve this.”

Sheriff Dykes also highlighted the support from Chester County Commissioners and announced plans for collaboration with Warden Holland and his team at the Chester County Prison. This partnership is aimed at enhancing joint operations and ensuring a coordinated response to diverse situations, thereby strengthening community safety measures.

The Mobile Field Force Instructor Training program is pivotal in preparing deputies to respond with professionalism and respect for individual rights, while maintaining peace and safety. This initiative marks a proactive approach by the Sheriff’s Office to equip its officers with advanced skills necessary for effective crowd management and underscores their commitment to public safety.
