Chester County Leadership Change: Josh Maxwell Takes the Helm

Chester County PA

WEST CHESTER, PA — Commissioner Josh Maxwell has been elected Chair of the Chester County Board of Commissioners. The decision was made during Tuesday morning’s organizational meeting of the Board of Commissioners.

Commissioner Marian Moskowitz will serve alongside Maxwell as the Vice-Chair.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity over the next few years to work alongside terrific county employees in the interest of improving the lives of our entire community,” said an enthusiastic Maxwell. “We get four years to do everything we can to make their lives better. It’s a great mission and I’m excited for this journey. There isn’t anything I’d rather be doing.”

The three-member Chester County Board of Commissioners, which includes Maxwell, Moskowitz, and Eric Roe, serves as the chief governing body of the county. Together with its executive staff, the Board manages a massive $683 million organization. Their mission is clear yet ambitious: to provide efficient, cost-effective quality government programs and services.

Elected every four years, the Commissioners bear the responsibility for policymaking, fiscal management, and the administration of County affairs. With Maxwell and Moskowitz now leading the charge, Chester County residents can anticipate a dedicated focus on improving their lives and enhancing the efficiency of local government operations.
