TOWNSEND, DE — On Friday night, Delaware State Police arrested Roger Shade, a 47-year-old resident of Middletown, Delaware, following a crash investigation in Townsend. Shade is facing charges for his fifth offense of driving under the influence (DUI), among other crimes.

According to authorities, troopers were dispatched to US 13 southbound and Pine Tree Road in Townsend around 8:30 p.m. on February 23, 2024. A black Chevrolet Camaro had reportedly crashed into a utility pole. Upon arrival, troopers identified the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle as Roger Shade.
