THORNDALE, PA — State Representative Dan Williams announced that nearly $900,000 in state funding has been awarded to Valley Township and the Caln Township Municipal Authority. The funds, granted through the PA Small Water and Sewer program, will go towards resolving stormwater drainage issues and installing a new sewer main.

Valley Township has been awarded $393,300. This funding will be used to tackle stormwater drainage problems along Route 30, a critical artery for local traffic. The project aims to reduce flooding and improve road safety during severe weather conditions.

On the other hand, Caln Township Municipal Authority is set to receive $498,958. These funds will be used for the installation of a sewer main along Granger Lane and Caln Meeting House Road. This project will enhance sanitation services for residents living in these areas.

“Creating and maintaining infrastructure is one of the core functions of government,” Williams said. “The state’s funding of these projects is a great investment for our communities and taxpayers.”

The PA Small Water and Sewer grant program is designed to assist with various projects related to water supply systems, sanitary sewer systems, storm sewer systems, and flood control. By aiding the construction, improvement, expansion, or rehabilitation of these systems, the program ensures that Pennsylvania’s communities have access to safe and efficient water and sewer services.

Williams represents the 74th Legislative District, which includes Atglen, Coatesville, Honey Brook Borough, Honey Brook Township, Modena, Parkesburg, Sadsbury, South Coatesville, Valley, West Caln, West Sadsbury and districts 1, 2 and 3 of Caln in Chester County. His continued efforts in securing such funding aim to help improve local infrastructure and enhance the quality of life for residents in his district.
