WEST CHESTER, PA — Five prominent arts, cultural, and historical organizations in Chester County have been awarded a significant financial boost to aid their operations, as announced by state Senator Carolyn Comitta. The funding comes as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Arts and Culture Recovery Program (PACR).

“Our local arts and cultural organizations are bouncing back from the impacts of the pandemic, and these grants will help ensure that they continue to do so,” stated Comitta, who also serves on the Senate Arts and Culture Caucus. The senator emphasized the vital role these organizations play in contributing to Chester County’s economy, providing educational opportunities, and enhancing the overall quality of life for residents.

The grants, allocated to organizations in the 19th Senatorial District, are as follows:

  • The Chester County Art Association has been awarded $10,897.
  • The Chester County History Center will receive $37,764.
  • Historic Sugartown is set to benefit from a grant of $13,414.
  • Revival Productions has been allocated $10,650.
  • The Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center will receive the largest grant of $49,950.

The PACR was established to provide grants to nonprofit arts and culture organizations, local arts and culture districts, and arts and culture professionals located in the Commonwealth. This initiative aims to ensure the stability and recovery of Pennsylvania’s arts and culture sector, which has been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This recent funding allocation aims to support the recovery and resilience of Chester County’s vibrant arts and cultural scene, ensuring it continues to thrive for the enjoyment and enrichment of future generations.
