YPrime Releases Report on Enhancing Clinical Trial Technology

MALVERN, PA — YPrime has unveiled a pivotal research report titled “A Sponsor’s Guide to Leveraging Site Insights for Smarter Technology Decisions,” offering a deep dive into the technology needs and preferences of clinical trial site personnel. This report is a valuable resource for clinical trial sponsors aiming to optimize site experience and boost trial efficiency through better-aligned technologies.

The findings highlight a significant disconnect between the technologies sponsors provide and what sites actually need. Notably, 47% of site personnel struggle with teaching participants how to use their devices and ePRO systems. Additionally, 60% indicate sponsors rarely seek site input when choosing an eCOA platform, and more than 70% feel inadequately trained to use and assist participants with these platforms.

Mike Hughes, Chief Product Officer of YPrime, emphasized the importance of focusing on user-centric designs, stating, “This research validates YPrime’s proactive focus on user-centric design in clinical trial technologies. We’ve implemented dedicated teams and systems to develop intuitive applications prioritizing user needs.”

The report advises sponsors to involve site personnel in technology selection, invest in thorough training, and foster integration and interoperability. Jimmy Bechtel, Vice President of Site Engagement at the Society for Clinical Research Sites, remarked, “Sponsors must integrate the voice of investigators and site stakeholders into technology decisions—not just at the initial selection stage, but throughout the entire process.”

By following these recommendations, sponsors can address critical concerns and significantly enhance the clinical trial experience for both site personnel and participants.
