The Institutes Designations Introduces Cyber Risk Management Program

The Institutes Knowledge Group

MALVERN, PA — In response to the increasing threat of cyberattacks, The Institutes Designations has launched the Associate in Cyber Risk Management™ (ACRM) program. This initiative aims to equip professionals with vital skills to effectively manage and mitigate cyber risks, addressing a critical gap identified in a recent survey by Munich RE, which revealed that 87% of C-level executives feel unprepared for cyber threats.

The ACRM designation is one of the few programs specifically dedicated to cyber risk management. It offers a comprehensive framework to help professionals build resilience against cyber threats by identifying exposures, recommending appropriate cyber coverage, and developing robust strategies in collaboration with stakeholders.

Adam Carmichael, President of The Institutes Knowledge Group, emphasized the urgent need for skilled professionals in this area: “As cyber risks continue to evolve and pose an increasing threat to businesses of all sizes, there’s an urgent need for skilled professionals who can understand, anticipate, and manage these risks.”

The program is tailored for underwriters, risk managers, agents, brokers, and other professionals eager to lead in this evolving field. It includes two new cyber-specific courses, along with additional topics such as safeguarding personal data, securing software, and regulatory compliance. This ensures participants are well-equipped to tackle both current and future cyber challenges.

Carmichael further noted, “The ACRM designation helps negate the perception that cyber risk is exclusively an IT problem. We believe this program will not only help professionals safeguard their organizations but also position them as thought leaders in an area of growing importance.”

The launch of the ACRM highlights The Institutes’ efforts to advance the education and capabilities of risk management and insurance professionals, preparing them for leadership in an increasingly digital landscape.
