WAYNE, PA — Verdafresh™ has become a member of the U.S. Plastics Pact, a consortium dedicated to creating a circular economy for plastics. The U.S. Plastics Pact aims to eliminate unnecessary plastics, ensure the recyclability or compostability of needed plastics, and circulate all used plastics to keep them within the economy and out of the environment.

Verdafresh joins over 130 organizations, including businesses, non-profits, government agencies, and research institutions, to reimagine packaging and business models. Dave Klopp, CEO of Verdafresh, emphasized the significance of this partnership. “Verdafresh has developed a patented technology for high barrier mono-material structures that offers full product protection with sustainably manufactured materials, which ultimately benefits our customers and the food industries we serve,” he said. Klopp stressed the company’s commitment to contributing to the U.S. Pact’s goal of incorporating 30% recycled content in plastic packaging by the end of 2025.

The U.S. Plastics Pact, led by Executive Director Emily Tipaldo, continues to innovate towards a more sustainable plastics economy. “Without the work of the U.S. Pact and its Activators, we would not see the level of national alignment and desire for a universal instrument to address plastic pollution,” Tipaldo stated.

As Verdafresh integrates into the U.S. Pact, it positions itself at the forefront of the circular economy movement, potentially increasing long-term shareholder value through innovative packaging solutions and sustainable practices.
