EXTON, PA —– Starting Monday, a one-month application window opens for small businesses to apply for up to $2,000 in funding for professional services through the Chester County Economic Development Council (CCEDC)’s New Business Champions program.
Online applications for CCEDC’s New Business Champions Micro Grant Program begin February 17, 2025 and will be accepted until 5 p.m. on March 17, 2025 at https://ccedcpa.com/new-business-champions/. Eligible businesses will receive micro grants to access services from some of the region’s top professional service advisors and mentors in areas including accounting, marketing, HR and more.
“This is the fifth round of funding for this valuable program that has already given 150 local business owners the boost they need to grow by providing access to critical professional services and mentorship,” said CCEDC President and Chief Operating Officer Mike Grigalonis.
To be eligible, businesses must have been established within the past 5 years and be based in Chester County with 10 or fewer employees. Consideration is given to business owners who are socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. Prior recipients of the New Business Champions Micro Grant Program are not eligible.
“Since launching CCEDC’s New Business Champions program three years ago, we have seen remarkable growth in the number of small businesses that have been able to successfully transition from the startup phase to profitability,” said Chris McHenry, CCEDC Vice President of Development Finance.
To apply, CCEDC recommends that businesses gather background information including a description of products and services, how the business began, key areas that drive the business and key areas where the business can benefit from professional services.
Small businesses can apply directly at https://ccedcpa.com/new-business-champions/.
Awards are subject to eligibility and funding availability, as well as a business needs assessment conducted through the CCEDC Business Resource Center. CCEDC’s New Business Champions Micro Grant Program is funded in part by the Chester County Workforce Development Board and Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
