PARKESBURG, PA — The GIANT Company has revealed plans to expand its presence in Chester County with the opening of a new store in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania. The approximately 60,000-square-foot grocery store will anchor The Shoppes of Sadsbury, a retail development situated at the intersection of Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) and Route 10 (Octorara Trail) in Sadsbury Township.

This marks the company’s first location in the Parkesburg community, further deepening its 40-year commitment to serving Chester County residents. Currently, GIANT operates 13 stores in the county and employs more than 2,400 team members.

“Having proudly served Chester County customers since 1984, this store marks our first in the Parkesburg community,” said John Ruane, president of The GIANT Company. “No matter how they choose to shop with us, we’re excited to welcome our new neighbors to experience the freshness and value GIANT is known for, combined with the latest grocery amenities, and great service from our friendly team.”

Construction is expected to begin later this year, pending approval of permits. While specifics about in-store features, job opportunities, and the opening timeline have yet to be disclosed, the announcement spotlights GIANT’s effort to meet the needs of the surrounding community with its modernized offerings.

The Parkesburg store represents an important addition to the region, promising enhanced access to high-quality groceries while contributing to local economic development. Further details are anticipated as the project progresses, positioning the new store as a significant milestone in GIANT’s continued growth and ongoing service to the residents of Chester County.
