West Pharmaceutical Services Pledges $400,000 to Boost Autism Research and Care

EXTON, PAWest Pharmaceutical Services (NYSE: WST) has pledged a generous donation of $400,000 to the Eagles Autism Foundation. The sizable contribution will be evenly split between a direct donation to the foundation and as a presenting partner of the Eagles Autism Challenge, the team’s signature fundraising event.

As part of its commitment to the cause, West Pharmaceutical Services will serve as the Presenting Sustainability Partner of the Eagles Autism Challenge Finish Line Celebration. In addition, the company will receive naming rights to the event’s Sensory Walk, henceforth known as the West Sensory Walk.

Ryan Hammond, Executive Director of the Eagles Autism Foundation, expressed gratitude for the commitment made by West. “West has given back to our community in so many ways over the years, including their recent partnership supporting our team’s Go Green efforts,” said Hammond. “This is just another example of their incredible leadership and commitment to building better, healthier communities.”

Led by Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie, the Eagles Autism Challenge presented by Lincoln Financial Group is a one-day bike ride and family-friendly 5K Run/Walk that begins and ends at Lincoln Financial Field. The event features three cycling routes, a 5K Run/Walk, and the newly named West Sensory Walk. All five routes culminate at Lincoln Financial Field with participants crossing the finish line on the field.

Green, President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chair of the Board of Directors at West, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership. “Giving is a cornerstone of West’s culture, and along with our mission, we are connected by a strong responsibility to continue to build a legacy that improves patients’ lives through research and building an inclusive community for everyone,” said Green.

The 7th annual Eagles Autism Challenge is set to take place on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Since its inception in May 2018, the event has raised more than $23 million, with all participant-raised funds benefiting institutions conducting innovative autism research and care. The fundraising efforts have financially supported 86 research projects and community grants around the world, highlighting the global impact of this local initiative.
