MALVERN, PA — Vishay Precision Group, Inc. (NYSE: VPG) has announced the appointment of Nava Swersky Sofer as an independent member to its Board of Directors. The decision, effective immediately, aims to strengthen the company’s leadership with her extensive experience in innovation, technology, and strategic consulting.
Saul Reibstein, Chairman of the Board for VPG, expressed confidence in the appointment. “We are pleased to have Nava join our board. As an entrepreneur and expert board director in the fields of technology and innovation across a broad range of industries, she brings valuable experience, perspective and expertise to VPG,” he said.
Ms. Swersky Sofer is widely acknowledged as a global thought leader in technology commercialization and strategic innovation. Her career spans decades of experience across industries, from venture capital to corporate leadership. She has consulted for numerous government organizations and financial institutions globally and has lectured on entrepreneurship at leading universities since 2009.
From 2005 to 2009, Ms. Swersky Sofer served as president and CEO of Yissum, the Technology Transfer Company of Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she directed the management of its intellectual property. Prior to that, she spent a decade in venture capital with firms such as Concord Ventures and Sanderling Ventures in both California and Israel. Her corporate experience includes senior leadership roles at Novartis, where she served from 1991 to 1996.
Ms. Swersky Sofer holds a law degree from Tel Aviv University and an MBA from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland. Her board experience includes roles on public and private boards, including Brenmiller Energy, BioCancell Therapeutics, and the Praxis Spinal Cord Institute.
