MALVERN, PA — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has announced its participation this week in PCIM Europe 2024, where the company will showcase a wide array of power management solutions addressing key trends in power electronics. These trends include e-mobility, high-efficiency power conversion, energy storage, and grid management.
At Hall 9, Booth 208, Vishay’s experts will be on hand to discuss their extensive offerings of passive and semiconductor solutions. Taking the spotlight will be Vishay’s newly released 1200 V MaxSiC™ series silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFETs. These components deliver on-resistances of 55 mΩ, 95 mΩ, and 280 mΩ in standard packages designed for industrial applications, with custom products also available.
Vishay will provide a roadmap for 650 V to 1700 V SiC MOSFETs, featuring on-resistances ranging from 10 mΩ to 1 Ω. This platform, based on proprietary MOSFET technology acquired through MaxPower Semiconductor, Inc., aims to meet market demands in applications such as traction inverters, photovoltaic energy conversion and storage, on-board chargers, and charging stations. Upcoming releases of the MaxSiC platform, including AEC-Q101 Automotive Grade products, will also be discussed.
Visitors to the booth can expect a variety of application-focused demonstrations, including:
- A high-voltage intelligent battery shunt for 400 V and 800 V batteries
- A 40 kW resettable electronic fuse (eFuse) for battery electric vehicles (BEVs)
- An 11 kW three-phase AC on-board charger (OBC) utilizing 90% Vishay parts
- A bidirectional 10 kW eFuse for 48 V applications
- A collaborative robot workstation featuring Vishay power resistors, capacitors, diodes, SiC MOSFETs, and a SiC-based auxiliary power converter.
Vishay’s display of passive components will include IHPT series solenoid-based haptic actuators, a 5.5 kW transformer/inductor for LLC applications, and IHLE® series low-profile, high-current inductors with integrated e-field shields. The exhibit will also feature wirewound and hybrid wirewound resistors, thick film power resistors, and robust metallized polypropylene film capacitors capable of high-temperature operation up to +125 °C. Other components include X1, X2, and Y2 EMI suppression film capacitors and high-reliability DC and AC power electronic capacitors (PEC).
Highlighted semiconductor solutions will include surface-mount diodes in eSMP® and FlatPAK packages, leadless surface-mount diodes in DFN, CLP, and LLP packages, as well as 650 V and 1200 V SiC Schottky diodes for AC/DC power factor correction (PFC) and ultra-high frequency output rectification. Vishay will also showcase microBUCK® and microBRICK® buck regulators, high-voltage MOSFETs in the PowerPAK® package, automotive power modules, and industrial power modules.
Vishay’s presence at PCIM Europe 2024 highlights its role in addressing the evolving needs of power electronics across various industries.
