EXTON, PA — West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. (NYSE: WST) has introduced a new nested format for its Daikyo PLASCAP® Ready-to-Use Validated (RUV) closures, available in multiple configurations. This advancement, revealed at the Pharmapack event in Paris, France, highlights West’s commitment to supporting advanced therapies, a rapidly expanding segment driven by innovation in cell and gene therapy treatments.
The PLASCAP® closure is a metal-free polypropylene cap with an integrated stopper, designed as a one-step press-fit vial closure solution. Offered in ready-to-use formats, it is compatible with vials featuring 13mm and 20mm crowns. The newly launched 6×8 nested tub configuration supports West’s 10ml nested CZ vials and selected nested vials with a 20mm crown, addressing the industry’s evolving packaging needs.
“West has been a leader in pharmaceutical packaging for over 100 years, and our containment solutions are used for the majority of gene and viral therapies in the market,” said Stacey Vaughan, Vice President of Strategic Portfolio Management. “The introduction of this new nested format for our PLASCAP closures addresses the complex challenges of containment for advanced therapy molecules while meeting increasing regulatory requirements of the market.”
This innovation further strengthens West’s position as a critical partner in pharmaceutical packaging, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of cutting-edge therapies.
