MALVERN, PA — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has announced the expansion of its frequency control product line, adding six new series of crystals and three new series of oscillators designed to deliver enhanced performance in smaller, cost-effective packages.
The new additions include crystals as small as 1.6 mm by 1.2 mm and oscillators starting at 2.0 mm by 1.6 mm, offering significant space savings on circuit boards. These compact designs help reduce overall costs by up to 40% when compared to the previously standard 5 mm by 7 mm packages.
Key upgrades include a wider frequency range and improved stability. The new crystals cover frequencies from 12 MHz to 60 MHz, with a tuning fork option operating at 32.768 kHz for real-time clock applications. Frequency tolerances of ± 20 ppm at 25°C deliver precision results. The oscillators span frequencies from 1.0 MHz to 125 MHz with temperature stabilities of ± 25 ppm, significantly outperforming previous components with tolerances of up to ± 100 ppm.
These advancements make the crystals and oscillators suitable for many demanding environments and applications. Vishay also offers custom options for frequency stability, tolerance, and temperature ranges for more specialized requirements.
“Our latest crystals and oscillators provide a competitive alternative to industry-standard surface-mount devices,” said Mike Husman, Vishay’s senior vice president of the Inductor Division. “Their compact sizes and enhanced performance align with modern development trends, making them ideal for advanced commercial applications.”
With these innovations, Vishay continues to provide cutting-edge solutions that match market demands while maximizing efficiency and reducing expenses for its customers.
