BERWYN, PA — A new legal eagle has landed at McAndrews, Mehalick, Connolly, Hulse, and Ryan P.C. (MLO). With an invigorated sense of purpose, the firm now welcomes Attorney Rachel Rosenberg, a top-rank advocate for children and families, to fortify their Special Education Department. A graduate of the illustrious University of Pennsylvania Law School, Rosenberg brings years of experience to MLO and a reputation for championing the rights of those all too often underserved by the system.

Fresh from the desks of the international law firm, Dechert, Rosenberg juggled weighty cases involving product liability, mass torts, and complex commercial litigation. However, it was her impassioned pursuit of pro bono work, championing the rights of children in the welfare system, that truly set her apart. Now Rosenberg is ready to wield her sharpened skills for MLO’s Special Education Department.

The attorney’s past resume of advocacy includes commendable work with the Homeless Advocacy Project, the ACLU, the Public Interest Law Center, and the Center for Reproductive Rights, among others. Notably, Rosenberg played a key role in the Glen Mills School litigation, collaborating with the Education Law Center and the Juvenile Law Center, on a federal class action against a former Pennsylvania reform school. The lawsuit cited constitutional and statutory violations tied to maltreatment, including special education violations of former students.

Quoting Rosenberg, “I have always wanted to advocate for the well-being of children, and there is no better way to ensure children reach their full potential… than by advocating for their educational rights.” Now, at MLO, she is ready to deploy all the skills she’s honed in her impressive career for the benefit of the children who need it most.

Rosenberg, a seasoned attorney in the Special Education department at MLO, provides counsel and representation to families of students with disabilities. Her extensive experience affords her the capacity to offer strategic representation to clients at all stages of special education disputes.

While at Penn Law, Rosenberg served as the Alan Lerner Fellow in Child Welfare Policy for Penn’s Field Center for Children’s Policy, Practice, and Research. Preceding her law school days, Rosenberg graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts Social Work, laying a strong foundation in child welfare.
