DEVON, PA — McNees Wallace & Nurick has bolstered its construction practice in the greater Philadelphia area by welcoming Richard J. Kalinowski as Of Counsel. Kalinowski brings extensive experience in guiding clients through every stage of construction projects, from drafting contracts to resolving complex disputes.

Kalinowski joins the McNees team after a successful career with prominent construction law firms in New York City. With undergraduate degrees in architectural and civil engineering from Drexel University, he offers clients a distinctive perspective on the challenges and complexities of real estate development and construction. His legal experience, paired with his engineering background, equips him to serve design professionals, contractors, owners, and developers in high-stakes matters.

“Whether our clients need help drafting or negotiating contract or subcontract documents, strategic advice concerning complex project-related legal issues, or a strong advocate when claims arise, they know they have the strength of McNees on their side,” said Andrew Levy, Chair of the firm’s Construction and Procurement Group. “With Rick on our team, our clients will see added value from both his legal acumen and his experience in civil engineering prior to his law career.”

A Drexel graduate, Kalinowski went on to earn his law degree at Seton Hall University School of Law. Over the years, he has built a reputation for successfully representing clients in arbitration and mediation proceedings and across all stages of litigation. He also has been recognized repeatedly for his expertise, earning honors such as inclusion in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America and listings as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers and Crain’s.

Kalinowski is the latest addition to McNees’ growing construction practice, expanding a team that now includes 39 attorneys, paralegals, and specialists. The Devon office also welcomed Benjamin Wright and Caitlyn Bechta over the past year, while Colin Butler joined the firm’s Lancaster office.

McNees’ construction and real estate group provides comprehensive legal services to developers, investors, contractors, government entities, and more. Beyond legal counsel, the firm offers title services through Pine Street Land Company, serving clients in Pennsylvania and Maryland.

With this latest hire, McNees continues to strengthen its position as a leader in real estate and construction law, helping clients successfully navigate complex projects and legal challenges nationwide.
