MALVERN, PA — In case you missed it, Cantaloupe, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTLP) has introduced its innovative Smart Store Series, featuring the Smart Store 600 and 700 models. These self-service retail solutions aim to address significant issues such as labor shortages, theft, and shrinkage, all while ensuring a seamless and inclusive experience for consumers.
Jeff Dumbrell, chief revenue officer of Cantaloupe, Inc., emphasized the industry’s challenges, including product accessibility, store locations, theft prevention, and inventory management. “Our Smart Stores can solve all these issues in traditional retail environments, like locked-up razors and high-end beauty products, while extending retail brands into new areas such as airports and college campuses,” said Dumbrell. He also highlighted that Smart Stores offer a modern and secure alternative to traditional vending machines.
Early adopters of the Smart Store technology have already noticed its benefits. Josh Sandhaus, vice president of Military Operations at GALLS, noted that the Smart Store 700 Duo has been transformative. “We can stock a diverse range of retail products and reduce our labor costs while maintaining a high standard of security,” Sandhaus said. Ron Barrett, CEO of Barrett Vending, echoed this sentiment, highlighting a significant drop in theft and increased customer satisfaction with the Smart Store 600 Quad.
Cantaloupe’s Smart Stores are designed to operate 24/7, providing advanced technology and security for various settings, including residential buildings, fitness centers, and hotel pantries. Customers present payment at the point-of-sale to unlock the unit, select their items, and complete the purchase by pressing Pay and walking away.
Key features of the Smart Store Series include state-of-the-art security technology, audio assistance for an enhanced customer experience, easy setup and installation, flexibility to scale store size and product mix, and integration with Cantaloupe’s platform for efficient inventory management.
“By addressing core challenges such as theft and labor shortages, our new solutions not only protect our customers’ investments but also open new revenue streams,” Dumbrell added. Cantaloupe’s Smart Stores are currently available in the United States and Canada, with plans to expand to the UK and Mexico soon.
With this innovation, Cantaloupe aims to revolutionize the traditional retail shopping experience and provide a convenient and secure solution for both retailers and customers.
