Red Rover Announces Exciting Lineup for 2024 Substitute Management Symposium

Red Rover

EXTON, PA — Red Rove recently announced the lineup for its 2024 Substitute Management Symposium (SMS) scheduled for January 30, 2024. The one-day virtual event is set to bring together hundreds of K-12 administrators, managers, industry leaders, and HR professionals from across the nation to share insights, experiences, and innovative strategies on substitute teacher management.

Kicking off the symposium as the keynote speaker will be Dr. Joe Sanfelippo, Superintendent of the Fall Creek School District in Wisconsin and best-selling author of “Hacking Leadership”. Dr. Sanfelippo’s transformative leadership and insightful perspective on substitute teaching are eagerly anticipated by attendees.

“His leadership as a superintendent has been transformative, and we’re excited to have him bring his insights, experience, and energy to this year’s SMS,” said Daniel O’Shaughnessy, Co-founder and CEO of Red Rover.

The symposium comes at a time when school districts across the country are grappling with an unprecedented teacher shortage and increasing full-time teacher absences. Dr. Sanfelippo highlights the importance of having a reliable pool of high-quality substitute teachers to ensure the smooth running of schools and the provision of quality education for students.

In addition to Dr. Sanfelippo’s keynote address, over 15 district substitute managers and HR leaders will lead thought-provoking sessions focused on effective substitute teacher management practices. Among them are Emily Douglas-McNab, Co-Founder and Chief of the Experience Management Institute, and Kelly Coash-Johnson, Executive Director for the American Association of School Personnel Administrators.

Highlighting the attendee-driven nature of the symposium, this year’s program was shaped with direct input from the Substitute Management Advisory Council. Established by Red Rover in 2023, the council comprises HR professionals from districts nationwide and plays a pivotal role in guiding and advancing the substitute management profession.
