WEST BRANDYWINE, PAFreedom Village at Brandywine continued its efforts to strengthen ties between residents and public officials through its innovative Spotlight Series. The most recent event, held in a packed auditorium, featured Chester County Commissioners Josh Maxwell, Marian Moskowitz, and Eric Roe, along with Chester County CEO David Byerman. The event fostered dialogue on local concerns, highlighted services available through the Chester County Department of Aging Services, and reinforced the importance of open communication.

Launched by resident and community liaison Ben LaGarde, the Spotlight Series focuses on empowering residents by creating direct channels of communication with policymakers. “This series was born out of the desire to connect our residents directly with the people and organizations shaping the policies that impact their daily lives,” said LaGarde. “We’re proud of how engaged our community has been, and we’re excited to keep growing these conversations.”

The event builds on the success of the inaugural session earlier this year, which featured Pennsylvania State Senator Katie Muth. Residents have shown enthusiastic participation, reflecting the community’s commitment to staying informed and involved in government policies that influence their lives.

With over 200 residents attending the recent session, the Spotlight Series has quickly grown into a vital forum for civic engagement at Freedom Village. By bridging the gap between local leaders and citizens, the program not only addresses key local issues but also enhances relationships within the county.

Looking ahead, Freedom Village plans to build on this momentum by hosting additional Spotlight Series events, offering ongoing opportunities for impactful discussions and meaningful connections between its residents and the officials shaping Chester County’s future.
