WEST CHESTER, PA — The Fred Beans Automotive Group is once again setting a lofty end-of-year goal to provide 50,000 meals through both food and monetary donations. This December, a portion of every sale and service bill will be set aside for food pantries in areas where the automotive group operates. The company also plans to collect nonperishable food items throughout the month to supplement monetary donations.

Fred Beans Ford of West Chester has pledged to contribute food and monetary donations to the Salvation Army of West Chester. Other organizations set to receive the donations include the Bucks County Opportunity Council, the Salvation Army of Boyertown, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, the Flemington Area Food Pantry, and the Community Food Pantry of Washington.

“Last year, our customers and team members rose to the challenge and helped us surpass our goal by providing about 55,000 meals,” said Beth Beans Gilbert, vice president of Fred Beans Automotive Group. “This year, we aim to make just as big of an impact to help our neighbors in need. Each customer who does business with us contributes to how many meals we fund, and we invite both our customers and team members to help us fill food bins placed throughout our dealerships and service centers.”

The benefiting food pantries have provided some tips for those who wish to donate food. These include checking expiration dates, choosing items with a long shelf life, and including spices and oils that are necessary for cooking but not always readily available in the kitchens of those receiving food donations.
